Hi folks! It's our last night in NY tonight and we've just fought our way through Times Square again to get to the internet cafe. Over the last two days we've seen loads more NY sights, as well as lots of wandering and getting a feel of the place, and all the different neighbourhoods.
Yesterday morning we finally got hold of our train passes and picked up our tickets to Boston at Penn Station, and then walked up to Central Park, which is big!
We spent another warm and sunny day milling about, visiting 'Strawberry Fields', a little section of the Park opposite the Dakota building devoted to John Lennon. The rest of the afternoon was spent walking around the huge reservoir.
With tired feet we used the subway for the first time to get back toward the hotel, via some shops of course!
Today was even warmer, and we are both a little pink after spending the day wandering around downtown. We set off and had our breakfast of coffee and bagels in a park next to the Flatiron building.
We walked to Ground Zero (a huge hole in the middle of dense skyscrapers) and round to Battery Park, right on the end of the island looking out to the Statue of Liberty.
At the South Street Seaport we filmed an advert for Trident gum (no, honestly!) and then walked over the Brooklyn Bridge.
We spent a bit of time resting on Brooklyn Promenade, with amazing views back onto Manhattan, and then got the subway back to Greenwich Village, were we had a nice Bistro lunch. We made a quick stop for a monster cupcake before we headed back to the hotel, and set off on then this little trip out to tell you all about it.
Suffice to say, we're knackered already!
Must go now, is late even over here!
Tomorrow lunchtime we get the train to Boston, and have got to find another place to get on the internet. With luck, be back on soon. Hope everyone's well. Bye for now!
