Hello everyone!
Hope you're all well back in Blighty.
We're fine and enjoying the travels already! Beats work for sure!
We arrived into a lovely and warm New York yesterday afternoon, and made our way slowly (the bags were heavy!) but without too much fuss to our hotel.
The hotel is cool - we like the old elevator (complete with metal cage door and funny smell!) and the room is nice in a faded glory kind of way.
This morning we were woken quite early (tho not as early as we're used to getting up for work!) by the New York falcons screeching away outside the window - apparantly they live at the top of one of the buildings right near the hotel. After breakfast (the first of many pastries! Uh oh.) we got a birds eye view of the City from the Empire State building, which was awesome.
Weather has been really nice again today so views were brilliant. We had a quick poke around Grand Central Station, and have just spent a nice lunchtime sat on the steps of the New York Public Library taking in the sun and eating hot dogs, pretzels etc! Thats where we are now, for 35 minutes of free internet.
After this we're heading to Penn Station to pick up our train passes, and then into Times Square.

Oh my word, could I be any more jealous at this precise moment in time?? I think not! Live the dream my friends, live the dream. In the meantime, I am going to try and find some oil in the original Washington so I can come join you both!! xxxxxxx
